Alisa May is a Honolulu-based artist. She studied visual art in Los Angeles, then earned a degree in architecture and a graduate degree in environmental studies to explore the intersection of the natural and man-made worlds. She feels a need to express the intangible qualities of nature through art. Through wildlife portraits, she seeks to capture her animal subjects' character, tell their story, and deepen her understanding of the interconnectedness of the earth and mankind.
